When I was in high school in the late '80s, many students were sporting the popular Che Guevara t-shirts with his silhouette and the words "¡Viva La Revolución!".  Looking back now, I bet not a single student knew what the Revolution was for.  Well -- maybe the goth kid who kept to himself all the time, but... Guevara's revolution was against capitalism.  He was against free trade and business.

Kill Time Warner for charging too much for cable!!! Cable should be free and provided by the government!!

...well not exactly, but that was how Che Guevara perceived Latin America during his time.  Guevara wanted a socialist Latin America, so his solution was violence - and lots of it (thanks to encouragment by Castro).  No negotiating or peace talks... no bargaining or exceptions.  Just revolt or die.  Sure Guevara would attend UN meetings and meet with other world leaders, but only to express his views - not to listen to others.  (Sound familiar?  Iran?  ahem...)  Che Guevara's ultimate goal was a borderless Latin America controlled by one government.  It is even documented that Guevara practiced war time tribunals.  Which meant - I think you are a traitor or spy, so I am going to kill you.

Here are some actual Guevara quotes:

"I am neither a Christ nor a philanthropist. I am everything contrary to a Christ, and philanthropy seems worthless in comparison to what I believe in. I will fight with all the weapons within my reach rather than let myself be nailed to a cross or whatever."

"Once more I was able to convince myself how criminal the capitalistic octopuses are. On a picture of our old and bewailed comrade Stalin, I swore not to rest before these capitalistic octopuses are destroyed."

"I ended the problem giving him a shot with a .32 pistol in the right side of the brain, with exit orifice in the right temporal. He gasped for a little while and was dead. Upon proceeding to remove his belongings I couldn't get off the watch tied by a chain to his belt, and then he told me in a steady voice farther away than fear: "Yank it off, boy, what does it matter." I did so and his possessions were now mine."

Sadly there are many Americans who still view Guevara as a hero or idealist in their eyes.  These same ppl abhor George W. Bush and would like nothing more than to see Bush punished for something if not everything he does.  This cracks me up.  They view Guevara who used military type force for his agenda as a hero - yet they claim George W. Bush is using military force in Iraq for his agenda (I'm not going to argue that right now).  So...irony anyone?

LANievesNC sparked my disgust at how many celebs, and therefore many misinformed or uninformed hollywood fans, try so desperately to be hip or trendy in their own way.

The same with Cameron Diaz wearing a "trendy" fashion bag with Red China's Communist Mao Zedong's notorious quote of "Serve the People" in Chinese and the bag also featured a trendy Communist Red Star.  This same quote was also the slogan for Communist China in the 1980s.  Diaz was traveling and vacationing in Peru when she decided it would be a good time to try out her new trendy bag as she was sight seeing.... too bad for her, Mao Zedong's communist army visited Peru in the 1980s and killed about 70,000 of their innocent civilians.  Needless to say, the local police detained her and informed the trendy hollywood star of her insulting behavior to their country.

What it boils down to for many (and I mean most) of those who hate George W. Bush is that hating George Bush is just as trendy as idolizing Che Guevara, Mao Zedong or any communist views.

Sad that so many of American's values can be swayed by trendy fashions.  It's not cool to like George Bush according to the media --- so I'm going to hate him to fit in at the local bar scene.

When LANievesNC mentioned Barack's campaign office sporting Che Guevara fixtures, it just reconfirms that most liberals have open and welcome arms ppl who support communist behavior or beliefs.  Not that Barack believes in the same values, but a vote is a vote.  If you believe that others who don't believe in your political view or values should die, but you will vote for me - then A-OKAY! ...welcome aboard!

Wait....lets see... Che Guevara, Mao Zedong... conform to our beliefs or die.  Radical Islam...conform...or die.  No...no..there's no similarity there.

But who cares...as long as you vote for me.

The new Barack marketing poster??? (I threw this together just now for fun, I'm not meaning anything derogatory by it)

Viva Barack!

As for me, I don't hate anyone.  I agree with some of George W. Bush's views (not all), and I don't agree with most of Hilary's and Barack's views.  But that doesn't mean I hate Hilary or Barack.  Call me untrendy and boring.  But at least I know where I stand.

Anyone have a chance to go to the Hot Stove Dinner this past Tuesday?

It was at the Convention Center and the dinner was also accompanied by an auction of many different sports memorabilia.  Lots of money was raised for good causes.  Highlight was special guest Ozzie Smith.

I work pt for the Knights for fun outside of my day job, can't wait for the team to come downtown.  I guess once Bill Deal stops sulking about missed opportunities of making money in the process of downtown Charlotte getting a baseball team (MLB or minors), then the holdup for the move will end.

Hope to post here often, I'll try to keep you informed of any breaking news involving the Knights and their White Sox major league affiliate.

Support uptown baseball!

Out of the 20 or so group of ppl that I socialize with on a regular basis...I'm the ONLY one FROM Charlotte. Is that good, or is that bad?
