Ten players were ejected from the Nuggets-Knicks game after a brawl broke out on the court. Since when did basketball become a full-contact sport? The NBA changed some rules after a fight back in 2004. But with this Madison Square Garden brawl do you think the new rules are enough? What type of punishment do you think these players should face?

I would bring up assault charges on anyone who threw a punch. Teach these losers a lesson. Just because you play ball well dosen't give you a free ride. Or does it? The athlete's in my high school were generally in the stupid people classes. In college athletes are too busy practicing to get a actual education. When i was in UT I was looking for an easy A so i enrolled in a class called study skills. Easiest A I ever got. Half of the people attending the class were student athletes. I have a feeling that a majority of professional athletes have used there celeberty status to get out of legal trouble troubles. If that same scene happened downtown Austin Friday night you can bank on the fact that they would all be in jail.

This is ridiculous! The behavior that took place during the basketball game with the Knicks and the Nuggetts is uncalled for. It's ashame that this incident had to happen again. It was bad enough watching it 2 years with the Pistons and the Pacers. It's obvious there is a lack of disipline in professional sports and these guys get paid way too much.. I'm glad to see that the players involved were suspended without pay. Though the financial hit will probably be ineffective with the amount of money some of these players are making, it does say that the league is taking a stand.

Undisiplined behavior is not only limited to basketball, but it is apparent in the National Football League as well. Just look at the Cincinnati Bengals where a multiple of players have been arrested and some more than once.

The incident that occurred with Dallas Cowboys, Terrell Owens spitting in the of Atlanta Falcons DeAngelo Hall on Saturday is par for the course for Owens. His behavior does not surprise me at all. Obviously the situation last year with Eagles did not humble him at all. Here is a guy that will score a touchdown and go throw his helmet on the sideline. This guy can't be fined enough and does not seem to get the message.

I am not one that looks at these professional athletes as role models, but most, not all, are very ungrateful for the oppourtunity that they have. I myself would love to be a professional athlete, but with my ballet, knitting and brass knucks street fighting, I have no time for any other contact sports.

There is actually a class at Drake Uni

There actually is a class at Drake University in Iowa, called Ethics in Sports. It teaches the traditional values in sports, reinforcement of American values through sports, cultural values and specific sports and disillusionment in American sports. They also go on to teach about social issues, drug use in sports, violence and aggression in sports, violence against officials, spectator violence and cheating in sports. There also is a section for coaching, ethical behavior in sports, professional ethics, code of ethics and bill of teacher rights. This is a course that should be mandatory for all professional athletes, after all they can afford it.
And we're paying them?????????

The way APD is handling things (killing unarmed "suspects", beating retarded kids at bus stations, etc...[both of which I learned from on Fox 7 Edge]), I would bank more on the fact a few of them would leave in a bodybag.

On Topic: This is basketball. Why dont we fine NBA players $5,000 everytime he hacks someone? Because its a game, and part of it is laying a few fingers on the opponent. The NBA charges tens of thousands of dollars to players every month for their actions. It would be easier on the players if they DID hand them over to local authoritys.

My name is Julie and I'm a producer here at FOX 7. I have wanted to be a news producer ever since the 5th grade. That year I bet my folks $100 I could go a whole year without watching TV as long as I was still allowed to see the news. (In case you're wondering...I won.)
