In some local politics, I found the poll results interesting:

Mustang Ridge City Councilman Charles Laws has recently come under fire for using the slur 'BLEEP' on a public city agenda. Some officials have called for him to step down. Do you think Laws should resign?

Poll Results:
YES 35%
NO  64%
Total number of votes: 130

I'm back. I went outside to do a live stream update. It's way cold out there, which was why my report was so quick.

So Hillary brought up the plagiarism issue that has been plaguing Obama recently.  He is accused of lifting words from the speech of Deval Patrick.  Obama said in the debate tonight that Patrick gave him permission to use those words. BUT Hillary came back with a zinger...  She suggested that we elect a president for change that you can believe in, not change you can Xerox. Ouch. Now we're getting somewhere people! These are the things I like to hear at a debate.

Hillary indirectly brought up oral sex during the debate! Way to keep the viewers interested Hill! Here's how it happened:
Obama was talking about how rough he had it growing up with a single mom because his father left him as a child.  Hillary then came back with, well I've seen some tough times too, and everyone here knows about that. She was smiling as she said this as the nation remembered a white stain on a blue dress. It was a little sad. But then she went on to talk about the wounded soldiers she visited in San Antonio and declared they had it the roughest. Okay Hillary, you won that one.

The debate just finished. Time to get back to the station. Thanks for checking out the blogs here.

Did you watch the debate? What did you think? Who won? Was there enough oral sex talk? Was there too much Spanish being spoken? Come on bloggers, don't hold back.

Okay bloggers, I am in the media room at the UT campus watching the debate between Obama and Clinton. It's a really relaxed vibe in herem pretty quiet.  But most of all, it's really cold. Like, I wish I had mittens on, but then I wouldn't be able to type. Fellow local media blogger sitting with me feel the same way.

We are in the first commercial break of the debate.  So far, I have not heard anything exciting or new.  The first question was from Univision anchor hottie Jorge Ramos. He asked now that Fidel Castro is out of power how will America deal with Cuban relations. Obama gave his answer, but them Campbell Brown, the moderator, reminded him that his answer was different a couple of years ago.  Dang. He saved himself by coming up with a middle ground. The man has a way with words.

The thing I have noticed most about this debate is that BOTH Obama and Clinton have started many of their answers with "I agree with he/she just said." How is this crap a debate?

Dictionary.com definition of debate: a discussion, as of a public question in an assembly, involving opposing viewpoints.

They are even standing side by side, like they are on a team, Not facing eachother they way I imagine Lincoln and Douglas did.

Obama is saying that uniting together is what will get change to happen in this country.

Ok, I will post another blog during the next commercial break.

Here is a slideshow of the pics I took at the debate today. Some are from inside the media room and the others are outside at the rallies. Sorry folks, I wasn't allowed inside the actual debate

Hello fellow myFOXaustin.com bloggers!

I am getting the great opportunity to be able to come to the Democratic Debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to blog for you guys. I will be blogging throughout the night when I get a chance between wrangling reporters to do live streams and taking pictures.

I am only allowed in the media room and the "spin room" so I won't be able to go inside the actual debate hall and watch it live. But there are monitors in the media room so I can still watch the debate.

Media room

No, we can't change the channel on any of those monitors..

So far I've had a bit of a frustrating day because the camera I have was taking pics that were too high of a quality to upload to this blog.  I think I figured out how to make the quality lower. The uploader for this blog is still not cooperating, so I will share them via my photobucket album. Then my wireless connection crapped out.. and it took me a while to figure out the problem and fix it.

Well now that I am all set up in here, it's time to head outside where reporter Arezow Doost is and check on her progress to see if I get get her live stream up.  Maybe I'll see you there.

p.s. Political Mike Rosen is also here to report from the Spin Room.  Look forward to his reports as well.  James Irby will be reporting from the watch party at the Hyatt.  It's a big day for us at FOX 7, as well as for Texans.

I don't know who wrote this email fwd. I just received, but I thought I would share it with you all.
What do you think?

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am
required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.  Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do , on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting n their BUTT, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Pass this along if you agree
